According to the National Fire Protection Association, an average of 22,600 fires and 62 cilivial deaths and injuries occurred annually from 2007 to 2011 nationwide. The average annual loss during this same time period was $451,000,000. All of these fires, losses and deaths and injuries were directly attributed to lighting strikes!
